Old Millfieldians 121-9 beat Old Kings Scholars 116-6 by 4 runs
The final was played at Gerrards Cross on Sunday 10th August between Old King's Scholars and Old Millfieldians, playing in the competition for the first time. It rained for most of the morning and finally at 4.15 it was agreed to play a T20 match rather than re-scheduling the game for September.
OKS won the toss and elected to field. Skipper Nick Brothers and Elliot-Square set a blistering pace for Millfield and after 4 overs they had 46 runs on the board. Both then fell to Eccles and the rest of the innings faultered save for a bright knock of 27 from Coster batting at seven. Millfield reached 121 in their innnings.
The OKS replay started disastrously with Elliot-Square claiming two wickets in 2 balls in his first over. However Masters (49) and Mitchell (35) steadied the ship and after nine overs King's were handily placed at 81-2. Following a short break for a shower the innings faltered and in the end OKS fell five short needing ten off the last over with four wickets remaining.
In all the circumstances (Hurricane Bertha passing through) everybody had an enjoyable day topped by a very exciting game. Or thanks to the groundsman and staff at Gerrards Cross CC for their hospitality and making the game possible in the most difficult of conditions.
