Cricketer Cup Semi-Finals in the West Country

This Sunday’s semi-finals have a definite West Country flavour as Old Cliftonians take on Old Millfieldians and Old Malvernians host Old Wellingtonians. These ties are hard to predict as it is never certain how many of their best sides each team will muster. Clifton had a narrow escape in their quarter-final, beating Old Hamptonians by only two runs, but Malvern and Millfield have both had lucky escapes in very close first-round games. Wellington have had the smoothest passage, downing Old Bedfordians, the holders, in the first round, but matches at Malvern are hard to win.

Some rain seems possible at the weekend after such a long dry spell but hopefully yhe two sides to advance to the final on 9 August will be known by Sunday evening.
