Quarter-Final Preview
The quarter-finals of the Beechbrook Capital Cricketer Cup take place this coming Sunday. The matches are a blend of recent finalists and new challengers.
One of those new challengers, Old Hamptonians, travel to Bristol to take on Old Cliftonians. Hampton come fresh from toppling Old Tonbridgians, finalists in the last three years, thanks to a powerful batting display, but Old Cliftonians on their own ground are a rising power and will want to go one better than last year’s semi-final.
There are two games between recent finalists - Old Millfieldians v Oundle Rovers, and Bradfield Waifs v Old Malvernians. All of these at full strength are good enough to go all the way to Arundel, so much will depend on availability and being able to field the strongest possible side.
Old Monmothians, who joined the Cricketer Cup in 2024, the same year as Old Hamptonians, welcome the Old Wellingtonians to Wales, both of them following excellent away wins in the second round.
All games start at 1130.
