Beechbrook Capital Cricketer Cup begins with Bye Rounds in May

The Cricketer Cup, now sponsored by Beechbrook Capital, starts in May with four bye rounds, one of which has already been played.

At a very sunny Marlborough yesterday, the Marlborough Blues racked up the fourth highest score in the history of the competition with 421-7 in 50 overs against Downside Wanderers. Elijah Samuel top-scored with 103, backed up by Max Dunne 96, Ed Kilbee 52 and Will Hammersley 51. In reply Downside were bowled out for 213, two wickets each for Max Woodford, Ben Higton, Archie del Mar and George Stevenson. Marlborough now travel to Cranleigh in the first round on 8 June.

The other three bye round games will be played next Sunday - Old Wellingtonians v Harrow Wanderers, Felsted Robins v Old Bedfordians, and Old Tonbridgians v Uppingham Rovers.
