Cricketer Cup Over 50s First Round

In addition to the game at Tonbridge previously reported, other first round games were completed last weekend.

An exciting game at Wellington saw the home side chase down Winchester’s 251-7 to win off the last ball with a four. Turnill made 98 not out for Winchester, while Will Sawrey-Cookson 95 not out and Dave Churton 91 were the Wellington top-scorers.

At Repton, Oundle Rovers were the winners. Repton made 182-5 in their 35 overs and Oundle 183-4 in 30.5. N. Tomlinson made 51 for the Pilgrims and M. Murray 61 not out, with Will Cartledge the Rovers’ top-scorer with 56 not out.

Harrow Wanderers were the winners by 6 wickets against Old Alleynians, while Old Cheltonians 273-4 beat Old Georgians 197-8 by 76 runs. Bradfield Waifs beat Stowe Templars but no score available.

The draw for the next round on 31 May is Tonbridge v Cheltenham, Wellington v Bryanston or Sherborne, Harrow v Eton or Uppingham, Bradfield v Oundle.
